Art from the Heart

You've got to resurrect the deep pain within you and give it a place to live that's not within your body.

Let it live in art. Let it live in writing. Let it live in music.

Let it be devoured by building brighter connections. Your body is not a coffin for pain to be buried in. Put it somewhere else.

Expressive Arts was  introduced to Franklin, GA in collaboration with the Heard County Community Partnership at the Outpost earlier this year.  Art from the Heart  was offered as a six week workshop exploring connection to ourselves and others. We had weekly guided meditation followed by an art process. We explored collage, water colors, clay, acrylics, colored pencils, and pastels to name a few. Art making time was followed by a journal prompt suggestion.  During the last part of the sessions, participants were encouraged to share their visual art and or writing and any insights they gained. Each member was given their own art journal to add to weekly and take home to add as they continue their processes individually. The space was a safe environment for others to witness and encourage as we discovered together. Feedback on interest in future workshops was very positive. We had a wonderful time while expressing ourselves creatively and learning about ourselves and our group. New workshops coming soon. Time, Location and Fees TBA.
